  • Condition: Opened, but unused, vintage 80's mail-order kit. The kit bag had been ripped open and then taped at one end. The contents are complete and in unused condition. The mesh and yarn are clean and bright, and the needle is present. The instructions have creases and a short dent-tear at the lower edges. The plastic bag may have some other short rips and dings, and some storage smudges.

    Here is an opened, but unused, vintage 80's mail-order kit from Woman's Day magazine "Diamonds-In-The-Square" pattern. Kit Art. No. 37117. Design Copyright 1986 Anne Halliday. Made in U.S.A.
    Pastel colors of rose, aqua and vanilla. Kit has materials and directions for a fast, easy weaving technique anyone can learn in minutes. No knitting or crocheting. All you do is thread the acrylic yarn in the giant needle and run it through the open mesh fabric.
    Kit contains: mesh cloth (white), a 5 in. weaving needle and sufficient yarn of each color to complete the afghan. There are 6 skeins of yarn: 3 rose, 2 vanilla, 1 aqua.
    The kit bag had been ripped open at one end and there was a piece of clear tape that kept it closed. I cut the tape to open the kit bag to verify the contents and for my pictures. The mesh and yarn are clean and bright, and the needle is present. The 4 page instructions have creases and a short dent-tear at the lower edges. Also included is a page torn out of a Woman's Day magazine dated 2/10/87 that shows this mail-order kit (with both color options). There's also a little Woman's Day Diamonds-In-The-Square Art. No. 37117 paper that pictures the other kit color option. The plastic bag may have some other short rips and dings, and some storage smudges. No musty or smoke odor.
    This kit package weighs about 1 lb 10 oz.
