This is a horizontal warping mill used to set up the warp threads for weaving. It can also be used by spinners to wind off skiens. It was used very seldom, then stored for more than 30 years, so is in pristine condition. It appears that Louet no longer makes a horizontal mill; however, Schacht makes one that sells for 0. It is made from hardwood; I believe it is maple. It turns very smoothly, and all of the wood is in very fine condition. It measures 29.25” on the long side and 14.5” on each of the cross members. When it is set up for use, it requires 25.5” of height space. The circumference of the warping mill is 59.” It holds up to 18 yards of warp. The stand is 15” X 33.5.”
