ports collectible This front strike matchbook cover
has a
striker that has not been struck. The cover have been stapled, folded and the matches were removed long ago. It is one of twenty matchcovers in this war years set. This matchcover was m
ade by the Maryland Match Co. of Baltimore
for Home Laundry. It is
approximately 1 1/2" by 4 1/2" and features black-and-white photo with simulated autographs on the inside. The player's position, college, height, with weight, appear below the photo. The bottom half of the inside panel reads "This is one of 20 autographed pictures of the Washington Redskins compliments of Home Laundry," with the old six-digit telephone number, ATlantic 2400. The outside of the match cover features a football graphic with Home Laundry and the phone number, the other side has the printed Redskins 1941 home game schedule. The covers all show honest wear with spots.
